whitehead and parkin architects create contemporary and sustainable architecture to suit modern lifestyles at work and home.
how we work
We are an RIBA chartered architects practice in Sheffield with experience of many different types of buildings including creative workspaces, homes and housing, commercial and domestic interiors, offices, healthcare and schools; we love to get 'under the skin' to help our clients get the most out of their projects.
We work closely with our clients to develop a unique response to each project; by addressing your individual needs we can provide a tailored design solution. We design holistically, balancing needs, use, budgets, environment and sustainability to meet our clients' aspirations. We communicate with our clients with understandable drawings and sketches at all stages.
Green design and low energy use is at the heart of our approach. We're one of a handful of practices in the UK who have graduated from the AECB CarbonLite retrofit training giving us extensive experience of making existing buildings more comfortable, improving wellbeing and reducing energy use without sacrificing good design.
We've been finalists in The Sunday Times British Homes Awards three times and our innovative projects have been published nationally and internationally.
Integrating buildings with gardens, landscape design and townscapes underpins our projects. As qualified garden designers, we offer in-house fully integrated or stand-alone garden and external space design.
As a small practice we give individual care and attention to each project. We bring our technical expertise from our experience of large complex buildings to your project, whatever its size.
We can offer you the full range of architects' services across all stages of projects. From our studio in Sheffield, we have undertaken projects across the country and are currently working on designs in Sheffield, the Peak District and the North West.
Questions about your project? Ask us, we're here to help. On our What We Dopage, we talk through the design process from starting your project through to built completion. On our Resourcespage, we have useful links covering planning requirements, building control and employing an architect.
