Hello!
We're Whitehead and Parkin Architects.
We create contemporary and sustainable architecture to suit modern life.

We are an RIBA chartered architects practice in Sheffield with experience of designing creative workspaces, commercial interiors, offices, industrial workspaces, homes and housing. Our work includes refurbishment, retrofit and new-build projects.

Green design and low energy use are at the heart of our approach and we have a design philosophy where sustainability is intrinsic from the site layout to the details. We design holistically, balancing your needs, use, budgets, environment and sustainability. Our low-energy retrofits help make existing buildings more comfortable, improve well-being and reduce energy use without sacrificing good design.

We design buildings for sensitive and difficult sites while incorporating features to radically reduce energy use and carbon emissions. Our commercial portfolio ranges from new-build office and industrial buildings to interior fit-outs, co-working spaces, restaurants and cinemas. Our residential designs include low-energy homes on sensitive urban and rural sites, large extensions and reconfigurations of existing homes.

We've been finalists in The Sunday Times British Homes Awards three times and our innovative projects have been shortlisted in international competitions and published nationally and internationally, most recently the Liverpool City Region/Liverpool Architecture Festival Townhouse competition and the HM Government/RIBA Home of 2030 competition.
